Veil Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 14, 2026
Overview
Veil is designed with one principle: your data is yours alone. The app operates entirely on your device and collects absolutely no data.
Data Collection
Veil does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, usage data, analytics, or telemetry of any kind. There are no accounts, no servers, and no cloud services.
Encryption
All photos and videos stored in Veil are encrypted on-device using AES-256-GCM. Your encryption key is generated locally and protected by your device's biometric authentication (Face ID or Touch ID) via the Secure Enclave. The key never leaves your device.
Camera and Photo Library
Veil requests access to your camera to capture photos and videos, and to your photo library to import media. These permissions are used solely to bring media into your encrypted vault. No media is transmitted off your device.
Third-Party Services
Veil uses no third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising frameworks, or crash reporting tools.
Data Retention
All encrypted data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all stored data. If your biometric enrollment changes, your encryption key is permanently invalidated and stored media cannot be recovered.
Children's Privacy
Veil does not collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the revision date at the top will be changed. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
